What We Do and Where We Stand

The Carver Democratic Town Committee conducts the official activities of the Massachusetts Democratic Party in Carver Massachusetts. We advocate for Democrats in local, state, and national elections. We also support public policies that are important to our community, and we help our neighbors stay informed on the issues that affect their lives, and those of their families.

Three Things You Can Do Right Now
  1. Make sure your family and friends have registered to vote. Register online in 5 minutes here if you're at least 16 years old.
  2. Stay informed about what is going on at Town Hall. Go to the Town of Carver website and sign up for e-alerts.
  3. Go to the Town Clerk's page on the town website and look here and here to see who is funding candidates for local office. All candidates must file financial disclosure forms when they run for office, and these forms are public records that you have a right to examine. Who donated to their campaigns? Did they receive PAC money from a special interest? If you're interested in a candidate whose financial information is not listed, ask the Town Clerk for a copy of the disclosure form.
Your Local Government Question of the Day!
What is the Massachusetts Public Record Law?

What is the Massachusetts Public Record Law?
The Massachusetts Public Records Law parallels the Federal Freedom of Information Act (FOIA). The federal FOIA is a statute that applies to federal records. The Massachusetts Public Records Law applies to records created by or in the custody of a state or local agency, board or other government entity. All such records including photographs, memos, books, papers, maps, recorded tapes, financial statements, statistical tabulations, or other documentary materials or data are considered public information in Massachusetts, unless they are withheld from public view under an exemption permitted under the law. See A Guide to the Massachusetts Public Records Law.
